CAR Rate-Based Services
MSU's Campus Animal Resources is your in-house provider of many services.
Fees are required for:
- Breeding colony management
- Animal export
- Technical Services
- Extra housing supplies and PPE
- Lab animal diets, bedding or medicines (including transport gel)*
- Equipment rental**
- Use of CAR surgery room***
- Use of CAR necropsy room***
- Use of CAR-owned inhalation anesthesia machines
Fees are assessed on a full per-day basis (per diem). Cancel reservations a full work day in advanced to avoid fees.
Additional fees may be charged for caging or equipment left in a room that is no longer housing animals. Investigators are responsible for storage of their procedural equipment (including specialized caging) when it is not in use.
*Charges include a mark-up for procurement and stocking of certain supplies.
