Brianne Ball joins the Campus Animal Resources veterinary team with 14 years of experience in regulatory guidance and clinical veterinary support at the University of Iowa. However, her scientific journey started with a BS in Microbiology at the University of Kansas followed by four years working in a University of Iowa research laboratory focused on viral immunology, using murine cytomegalovirus to study the interactions between natural killer (NK) cells and viral-encoded decoy molecules. During her veterinary training at Iowa State University, Brianne explored opportunities in laboratory animal medicine and became a founding member and president of the ISU student chapter of ASLAP. Upon graduation with her DVM, she returned to the University of Iowa in 2012 as a veterinarian in the Office of the IACUC, and served various regulatory and clinical roles at UI until her departure in 2026. She pursued ACLAM certification via the experience route, becoming a Diplomate in 2018, and served as the Attending Veterinarian for Grinnell College from 2021 to 2026.
