IG007: IACUC Actions Following Full Committee Review (FCR)

In accordance with the Public Health Service (PHS) guidance (NOT-OD-09-035) the MSU Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) stipulate the following procedure for use of Designated Member Review (DMR) subsequent to Full Committee Review (FCR) when a convened meeting of the IACUC requires modification of a protocol to secure its approval.

General Guidelines:

A quorum of members at a convened meeting may decide by unanimous vote to use DMR subsequent to FCR when modifications of an animal use protocol are required to secure approval. However, any member of the IACUC may, at any time, request to see the revised protocol and/or request FCR of the protocol.

When the DMR is issued, the protocol approval date is the date that the designated member(s) approved the study.

This Guideline has been established by unanimous consent of all members of the IACUC.
